Duties Inspect, adjust, lubricate and perform the following repairs to the compressors.
Determines work required and for methods, techniques, and procedures to use when performing mechanical duties.
Operates equipment necessary to effect repairs.
Uses existing guidelines such as blueprints, repair manuals, equipment specifications, and schematics to complete assignments.
Installs, troubleshoots, performs major mechanical repairs, makes operational tests and maintains equipment associated with the conveyance and treatment of water and wastewater and valves associated with the potable water supply system.
Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
Requires a pre-employment and annual physical.
Requires pre-employment and random drug testing.
This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Industrial Equipment Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision.
The ability to perform common duties of industrial equipment mechanic required to operate equipment necessary to effect repairs.
I use existing guidelines such as blueprints, repair manuals, equipment specifications, and schematics to complete assignments.
I can monitor/maintain Sewage Treatment Plant, Industrial Waste Treatment Plant, groundwater treatment plants.
- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Effort: Work requires walking and standing on concrete floors; climbing stairways and ladders; frequently unloading, stacking, or emptying of chemicals and compounds into feeders and tanks; turning of valves and controls; and frequent handling of objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
Incumbent is required to push, pull, reach, walk, stand, crouch, kneel, and climb substantial periods of time.
Incumbent uses hands, arms, feet, and legs while operating a motor vehicle.
Working Conditions: Work is performed inside and outside, during day and night in all kinds of weather.
Worker is exposed to various hazards such as noise, unpleasant odors, gases, frames, hazardous materials, biological hazards, chemicals, moving objects, and sharp edges.
There is danger of skin injury and infection while performing duties.
Work assignments involve a thorough knowledge of hazardous materials handling and related activities.
Incumbent is required to successfully complete a variety of hazardous material classes.
There is danger of falling into open tanks, pits, manholes, etc; falling off of catwalks and ladders; and exposure to mechanical injury while inspecting, checking, and repairing moving and rotating equipment.
Cuts, bruises, and broken bones may result from accidents while working around machinery or while climbing around equipment.
Incumbent must use safety equipment such as goggles, safety glasses, gloves, face shields, safety shoes, respirators, protective suits, and other protective items to protect form chemical, mechanical, and biological hazards.
Workers may be required to work in confined spaces and must observe all safety requirements for confined spaces.
Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
