00 Normal Work Schedule: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday-Friday, some evenings and weekends required Job Summary: The Dual Enrollment Student Success Coach/Advisor I will work with dual enrollment students to provide student success coaching and academic advisement for general education courses/high school scheduling.
The DE Student Success Coach/Advisor I will also perform the following tasks: Duties and Responsibilities: Check registration reports to ensure that students are taking courses that align with the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) Dual Enrollment Equivalency List.
Provide progress reports, mid-term grade reports, and final grade reports to the high school partners (i.
e.
, guidance counselors, career coaches, and administrators).
Work with faculty to ensure they are trained to provide success reporting and updates on Academic Alerts/Cases in Navigate.
Schedule and conduct student success appointments with the student and high school guidance counselor to discuss academic concerns.
Create the Dual Enrollment Student Success module and programming for students that are accepted to the program.
Create a Peer Success Coach program to support college readiness and tutoring initiatives.
Train and supervise Financial Aid Service Specialists.
Provide in-field student success coaching, when needed, to regional high schools that have been identified as high-need through Navigate reporting and analytics.
Document Navigate communication with DE students (texts, emails, communication campaigns), appointment summaries, and work with the Student Success Technology Office to ensure successful tracking of student needs.
Work collaboratively with the Student Success Department to ensure the program is consistent with JSU Student Success/Advisement models, attending professional development events.
Direct students to other JSU resources and work with those departments (i.
e.
, tutoring, Online@JSU, IT Support, etc.
).
Refer dual students to their JSU academic advisors when they have met most of their high school graduation requirements and many of their JSU general education requirements (create meta major checklist).
Create targeted messaging for students with 25+ hours to incorporate Major Explorer into Student Success programming.
Conduct “Meet with Your Major” events that will continue to build on retention efforts for dual students that have expressed interest in JSU Gateway Courses (NU121, CJ101, HPE109, CBA115, etc.
).
Create JSU DE Student Success at Your High School infographic handout to all partnering high school administration/guidance counselors to provide student success academic metrics.
Performs other duties as assigned.
