Full Job Description The Gadsden Job Corps Center, operated by Strategix Management, is a federally funded, residential vocational training program for socioeconomically disadvantaged youth aged 16-24, with over 120 locations across the U.

gov) We are currently seeking a licensed and qualified Center Mental Health Consultant for our Gadsden Job Corps Center located at 600 Valley Street, Gadsden, Alabama 35901.
Overview of Responsibilities: The emphasis of the Mental Health and Wellness Program must be on prevention, early detection, identification of mental health problems, and helping students overcome barriers to employability.
The program utilizes an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) approach, which includes short-term counseling with an employability focus, referral to center support groups, and crisis intervention.
Activities also include mental health promotion, prevention and education for students and staff, consultation to staff, annual trainings, and disability and TEAP program support.
The Center Mental Health Consultant is part of the Health and Wellness team and collaborates closely with the Health and Wellness Manager, Counseling Manager, TEAP Specialist, Disability Coordinator, and Center Physician.
Qualifications: - Active, unrestricted license to practice as an independent practitioner in the state where the center is located.
- Clinical/Counseling Psychologist or Clinical Social Worker preferred.
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor will be considered if other qualifications are met.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a licensed independent practitioner providing assessment and treatment services to adolescents and young adults.
We offer (1) licensed position at 52 hours per week.
Services are required for all weeks with the exception of the 2 week, Department of Labor (DOL) approved student Winter break.
The initial term would be March 1, 2024 through November 30, 2025 for the base period with 3 one-year option periods to follow if exercised.
