The LPN works under the supervision of the RN to evaluate, plan, implement and monitor health care for Job Corps students.
Essential Functions 1.
Assists in coordinating and conducting cursory and comprehensive health assessments for all new students within PRH-specified timeframes.
2.
Assists in the daily operation of the H&W clinic to include coordinating student appointments, performing routine care, monitoring students on bed rest, and documenting health care in the confidential student health file.
3.
Treats minor injuries and illnesses according to physician instructions.
4.
Prepares and administers medications in alignment with Job Corps Health Care Management Guidelines, also the state practice act.
Maintains strict compliance in documenting medication logs and the security of medication supplies in compliance with PRH Appendix 203 “Medication Management Guidelines.
” 5.
Assists the RN and physician in treatments and communicating with student patients and their families/guardians.
6.
Assesses patient health needs and implements nursing care plans and chronic care plans as indicated, within scope of practice.
7.
Reports pertinent information and changes in individual health status to the physician and health staff in a timely manner.
8.
Ensures the provision of needed adaptive equipment.
9.
Ensures student health files are accurate, up-to-date, and maintained in strict compliance with HIPAA laws and PRH Chapter 2 requirements, and that student privacy is always protected.
10.
Performs and interprets diagnostics procedures and administers therapeutic treatments and preventive measures under the guidance of the RN and wellness staff, within scope of practice.
11.
Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property and adhere to safety practices.
12.
Participate in department meetings and all mandated PRH and Strategix training.
13.

Promote a harassment-free environment.
15.
Utilize information systems and handle student data in strict adherence to Job Corps and Strategix policies to protect student’s personally identifiable information (PII) and reduce network security threats.
16.
Adhere to and model Strategix servant leadership culture values: Honor Others, Inspire Vision, Choose Integrity, People First, Balance Focus with Flexibility, Serve with Humility, and Innovate and Disrupt Minimum Active, unrestricted LPN license covering the state in which the Job Corps center is located and one year of related experience.
Current CPR certification, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to effectively work with youth.
Information technology proficiency including MS Office.
Preferred Four years of direct nursing experience.
