*JOB ANNOUNCEMENT* *POSITION* Polk County is currently in search of an accomplished leader in law enforcement to assume the role of *Chief of Police*.
The preferred candidate should possess exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, demonstrating an ability to foster connections both within the department and throughout Polk County collaborating across various departments and engaging effectively with the community and neighboring police agencies.

*DEPARTMENT* Polk County Police Department (Georgia) *WORK SCHEDULE* Full Time; 40 hours per week; Overtime as required.
*COMPENSATION/SALARY* * Minimum Starting Salary: $40.
12 per hour/$ 83,467 per year * Additional steps (increase) in the pay scale may be given for relevant education and experience.
* Excellent benefits package that includes insurance benefits, retirement, vacation and sick leave, and paid holiday.
*JOB SUMMARY* This position is responsible for directing the operations of Polk County Police Department.
*JOB QUALIFICATIONS* * Baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field required; and * Minimum ten years of relevant leadership experience required; or * An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge, skill and abilities necessary to perform the work, may be considered.
* Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
* Ability to meet current requirements set forth by the Peace Officer Standards and Training Council for the State of Georgia.
